I was just looking through a bunch of my childhood books and I was somewhat surprised to find a book entitled What Really Happened to the Dinosaurs? by John Morris, the president of the Institute for Creation Research, Ken Ham, the president of Answers in Genesis, and Jonathan Chong.

On Pharyngula, I found this video: “Biblically Correct” Tour Guides For Jesus!!. The video speaks for itself. People’s beliefs are all too often determined by what they want to believe instead of by what they have reason to believe. This is especially true for those people who follow more “conservative” forms of Christianity or other religions. The curator in that video is an exception as he was, ironically, raised to be a Creationist.
About a month ago, I saw a video about the Archbishop of Canterbury’s view that parts of Sharia law should be legally recognized by the UK’s government and just a few days ago, I read an article titled “Animal-sacrifice case highlights tensions over religious practices” both of which I came across on Pharyngula.
I’m not really very opposed to a belief in something or somethings that created the Universe as much as I am opposed to the typical Christian view of God. The argument that the world is too complex or unlikely to have come about without a design is an argument that relies on the fact that we just don’t know enough yet, however, it still seems to make sense at least.
Often, in order to justify their belief in God’s existence, people will argue that the Universe is too “complex” to have come about by chance alone, so God must have done it. Not only is this argument flawed because it does nothing to show that God exists (God being the Christian god), it is also flawed because it requires ignoring the current condition of humans and it requires ignoring human history.

Essay: Legalization of Homosexual Marriage
As I said in an earlier post, one of my friends is against homosexuality. She’s also against the government legalizing homosexual marriage and she wrote an essay for school last year about this. When I sent her my previous post, she sent me her essay to look at.
Article: Catholic Answers - Homosexuality
Recently at my high school our GSA and some individuals unrelated to the group were celebrating Ally Week in various ways, such as through wearing clothes of certain colors on different days. One of my good friends who is against homosexuality didn’t like the fact that the school was supporting it. Since she was against it, I decided to do a quick Google search to see what kinds of reasons people have for being against homosexuality, most of which I was already somewhat aware of.
decoy made a very nice atheistic symbol and I thought it would be even better if it was an SVG, so I used Delineate along with Potrace to convert his PNG file into an SVG.
Feel free to use it however you wish.
