Update, 2009-07-04: Jaunty Jackalope (9.04) works very well with wireless connections, and this was merely my solution to a problem I was having with Gusty Gibbon (7.10). It won’t necessarily work, and Ubuntu intermittently failed to recognize the wireless USB adapter after I upgraded to Hardy Heron (8.04). Also, fixing the problem without having to buy anything is, of course, a much better solution, so use this as a last resort.
I got my very first computer recently: a refurbished Dell Inspiron 531 PC with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processor, a 250 GB hard drive, and 1 GB of RAM for $250 for my birthday, and it came pre-installed with Windows Vista.
